Being a freelancer, you need to be a strong willed person and a go-getter, so Tecno’s #StopAtNothing campaign resonates deep within me.
Determination is required to achieve success and the phrase helps to emphasize that. Passion has kept me going in my career but it is the determination for success that allows me to persist in the face of difficulties.
One challenging moment in my life would be when I was still young into Photography. Then, to be a photographer, you at least needed a camera and I didn’t have one. Smartphone cameras were not as great then hence, smartphone photography was not popular but a phone was all I had so I used my phone camera consistently for 3 years to tell stories.
As a result, I developed a style and quickly carved a niche for myself. I had my first photography exhibition with photos all taken on a smartphone and it was a success.
I made sales and got recognition beyond Nigeria. But in all this, what I really learnt is
that “Art comes from the heart” and that is perhaps the most important thing in Photography and Filmmaking.
My favorite inspiring quote is: “Don’t count the shots, make the shots count”.
